Friday, March 3, 2023, marks the 50th anniversary of the first heart catheterization and first open heart surgery in McLennan County. Performed by Dr. Robert Angel and Dr. Robert Crosthwait on a female patient in Waco, the surgery was a complete success, with the patient going on to live a long and healthy life.
