Letter From the President

Dear Fellow Physicians,

A new year is upon us and yet many of the challenges face our profession.  As we move forward we must seize the opportunity to work collaboratively and actively to come up with constructive solutions.  The Institute of Healthcare Improvement has put forth the Triple Aim that recommends the 3 key factors for progressive health care reform moderated by our profession.
1. Improve the Patient Experience

2. Improve the Health of the Population We Serve

3. Improve the Value of the Care We Provide.

In our efforts to strengthen our profession and resolve our challenges, we must always put a principled question at the forefronts of our minds, “How will this help our patients?”.  The more we honor and engage our patients as an effective ally in health care redesign the more likely we will reach compatible and reasonable resolutions.
God Bless you all for the excellent, compassionate care that give our patients of McLennan County everyday.  Let us make 2012 a year that our patients and our peers will look back on positively as a one of mutual achievement.
With Sincerest Regards,
Charles H. Stern, M.D.

President of the McLennan County Medical Society
